DAY Art CAMPS

PD DAY & HOLIDAY YOUTH PROGRAMS

Looking for something fun for your children when schools are closed for Professional Learning Days days? Send your young artists to Saskatoon Makerspace for a day of discovery, creativity and confidence building.

Designed for makers aged 6 to 12, our Day Art Camps help young artists explore key art concepts like composition, emphasis, harmony, color, and perspective through fun, hands-on projects. Led by Gild Studios, the focus is on experimentation and process, helping children gain skills, express themselves, and develop a love of making.

Campers will use a variety of materials and get a little messy, so please send them in clothes that can handle paint and glue. All skill levels are welcome, each child will be supported at their own pace.

What to Bring:

  • A reusable water bottle

  • Paint-friendly clothing

What’s Included:
All art supplies are provided, so your child only needs to bring their creativity and enthusiasm.

The focus will be on play, experimentation, and discovery. Participants will try out new techniques and materials while learning art concepts like pattern, juxtaposition, and texture, which can apply to any creative practice in the future.

After School Artisans

After-school Artisans is an 18-week program designed to provide an enriching and engaging experience at no cost for inner-city and at-risk youth. The program is focused on introducing students to the world of art, creating, digital design, STEM, and making, with a particular emphasis on hands-on learning, utilizing nearly all of our tools and equipment.

Community Program

Make Stuff Mondays

Make Stuff Mondays is a dynamic 8-week hands-on experience, in which participants will explore the realms of laser cutting, 3D printing, decal cutting, leatherwork, and woodworking, bringing their ideas to life with precision and innovation. From personalized decals to the artistry of leatherworking and the craftsmanship of woodworking, each week offers a unique opportunity for hands-on exploration and creative expression.

Dreambrokers

Makerspace partners with Dreambrokers to provide a wide range of programming services for the inner-city school they work with. From focused 4 week programs, 10 week extended programs, 18 week full programs, or even a dedicated week of summer camp, Dreambrokers has been instrumental in helping us to provide enriching hands-on learning to many youth who don’t have the same sort of opportunities as many other families in the city.

Community Program

We work with many community organizations in the city to provide free programs to families of that community. During this time, youth can attend at no charge to learn a wide variety of our tools, equipment, and art forms.
